GENERAL TERMS OF SALE

I. Sales Conditions

Placing an order with our Bookstore (via our website, by phone, or by email) implies that the customer accepts the entirety of the general terms of sale presented below. These conditions govern the commercial relationship between L'Histoire Vagabonde Bookstore and its customers and naturally apply to all orders as stated.

II. Books, Engravings, Photos, Posters, Records...

L'Histoire Vagabonde is not affiliated with any Booksellers' Union or Association. However, its book-selling activity adheres to a code of ethics in accordance with the practices of both antique and modern bookstores, which we commit to uphold. Each item offered undergoes a meticulous description, including its condition, defects, deficiencies, and any potential restorations.

III. Orders

Orders are processed in the order they are received. We commit to responding within 48 hours. Requests made by customers via phone or email will receive a written or oral response. L'Histoire Vagabonde Bookstore reserves the right to cancel an order placed by a disrespectful customer or one known for their misconduct, dishonesty, or impoliteness towards other booksellers. The information provided by the customer is binding at the time of the order. In case of an error, the bookseller cannot be held responsible for the impossibility of delivering the order. The costs for returning the order will be borne by the customer.

IV. Delivery

Upon receipt of payment for the order, L'Histoire Vagabonde Bookstore undertakes to dispatch all ordered items worldwide, using the services of the French postal service (La Poste) or any other carrier, within 48 hours (business day). Shipping and insurance costs are calculated based on the destination of the order and are the responsibility of the customer. They are determined at the time of payment based on La Poste's Colissimo service. For orders delivered outside the European community, all fees and possible customs taxes are the customer's responsibility. L'Histoire Vagabonde Bookstore cannot be held liable for fees and taxes imposed on the customer. Packaging is free, and special attention is given to protecting items to prevent any damage during transportation. However, items travel at the recipient's risk. In case of receiving a damaged package, the customer must promptly file a complaint with La Poste or the relevant delivery service. For valuable shipments (over 300 euros), additional insurance, at the customer's expense, may be offered.

V. Invoicing and Prices

Prices indicated (in-store or on the website) are in euros. Each delivery is accompanied by a detailed invoice. L'Histoire Vagabonde Bookstore does not include VAT as it is not subject to this tax (non-recoverable VAT under the special VAT regime for "second-hand goods" – Article 297 A of the French General Tax Code and Community Directive 2006/112/EC). The bookstore reserves the right to modify the prices of books displayed online at any time. The price observed at the time of the order is the one that will be invoiced to the customer.

VI. Payment

Payment can be made in various ways:

  • By Credit Card via STRIPE integrated into our website (100% secure procedure)

  • By bank or postal check made out to L'Histoire Vagabonde Bookstore

  • By PayPal to our account (provided upon request)

  • Bank transfer (IBAN provided upon request)

VII. Returns and Cancellations

In accordance with the current regulations governing distance selling, the customer has 14 days from the date of receiving the order to retract and return the item(s) to L'Histoire Vagabonde Bookstore. In case of a return, the bookstore undertakes to refund the customer within 7 business days of receiving the returned item(s) for the amount paid for the purchase (book + shipping costs). The return must be made in appropriate packaging and by registered mail (mandatory tracking) at the customer's expense. However, at the customer's request, a credit note can replace the refund.

VIII. Dispute

These general terms are governed by French commercial law. In case of complaints or disputes received within 45 days from the order dispatch date, L'Histoire Vagabonde Bookstore will always seek an amicable solution. All comments will be taken into account to resolve the dispute as effectively as possible. After this 45-day period, no claims will be accepted, and ultimately, only the Commercial Court of Côtes d'Armor will have jurisdiction.
